About Kara: Business owner, pet sitter, and dog walker.
- My name is Kara. I have had a passion for animals
for as long as I can remember and have had numerous pets. I currently have two dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon, a guinea pig, rats, a gerbil, chickens and ducks, and a horse. I really enjoy horseback riding.
My experience with animals includes working with horses at a riding stable as a trail guide, stable hand, and riding instructor. I also worked at a veterinary clinic as an assistant and receptionist from May of 2005 to November of 2012. I volunteered at the Toledo Zoo from May 2012 to January 2013, as an exhibit guide talking about the animals in Tembo Trail, then in the Education Animal Center taking care of the husbandry of many species of animals.
- I graduated with Honor from Michigan State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of
Science in Animal Science. Since then I have been certified as a Dog Obedience
Trainer/Instructor in 2009 from Penn Foster. In 2012 I have also been certified in Pet First Aid. I am a certified pet sitter through National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).
- I have been a member of the Toledo Kennel Club since March 2011 where my dogs
and I enjoyed obedience and agility. There I have assisted in the puppy class and home obedience class. I also taught the beginner agility class.
- As a pet owner and pet lover, I understand the stress and anxiety of leaving
your pet at home for long hours during the day or while on vacation. That is why
I have decided to create a dependable pet care service to meet your needs.
